Mystery Photo No. 12 -- men and plane

What we know about this photo:
These men formed the Flying Loggers Club in 1957.
The group enjoyed shared use of a PT-19 military
training aircraft for business and pleasure trips.
This photo was taken for a story in the May 14,
1958, Herald and News. All of the men were involved
in the logging and lumbering business.
Standing on the wing are Jim
Campbell, left, and Jess Williams. Standing on the
ground from left are Ned Putnam, founder of Sturdi-Craft
Inc., Del Woster, Noble "Tiny" Merryfield, Arlie
Collier, Norman Hardin, Richard Salvage and Robert
Clark. Club members who did not appear in the photo
included Elmo Howard and Richard Lash.
According
to one source, the plane had earlier belonged to the
Sportsmen Pilots of Oregon, whose emblem with a duck
carrying an umbrella appears on the plane beside
Putnam's head.
According to another source, Putnam
was known for making bold flights in the area around
Klamath Falls, including low flights into the
Klamath River Canyon.
