Mystery Photo No. 10 -- girls on boat

What we know about this photo:
The year was 1948, and the occasion was the annual
Jaycee Boat Regatta. These six ladies were among the
candidates for Regatta Queen. Standing are Mary Lou
Case, left, and Dorothea Cogdill. Seated from left
are Patsy Kennett, Delores Rice, Mary Lou Stanberry
and Beverly Young. The boat belonged to Hugh Tolley.
Other queen candidates that year included Trudy
Bennett, Lou Ann Chase, Pat MacMillan and Nancy Slusher. Beverly Young won the crown by selling the
most regatta buttons.
Thanks to Mary Lou (Stanberry) McSweeney for providing newspaper clippings that
solved our mystery. This photo was published
in the June 10, 1948, Herald and News.
