Fort Klamath Museum

(June through September).
The Fort Klamath Museum sits on an eight-acre parcel
at the heart of historic Fort Klamath, which operated from 1863 to
1890. No original fort buildings remain on the museum grounds,
although the site contains the flag mall of the fort, as well as the
graves of four Modoc Indian leaders who were tried and hanged at the
fort in 1873. A replica of the fort guardhouse contains artifacts of
fort history.
Comments sought on Fort Klamath Strategic Plan
Klamath County is accepting public comments on a
proposed long-range management plan for the Fort Klamath Museum. The
purpose of the plan is to ensure protection of museum resources
while providing quality experiences for museum visitors.
