Employment &
Applicant Information: With every selection, our goal is to hire
the best qualified applicant for positions within Klamath County. Our
recruitment and selection process involves several steps to ensure that this
goal becomes a reality. Although each position has its job-specific
qualifications and requirements, we have established a number of basic
qualifications which apply to all positions at Klamath County. These are
listed below. Basic Qualifications Expected of all Job
Applicants ü A stable and verifiable work history ü A record of regular and dependable
attendance ü A valid drivers license and clean driving
record (for positions where operation of a vehicle may be required) ü A professional, well-groomed appearance
(appropriate for the job assignment) ü Strong communication, problem-solving and
teamwork skills (appropriate to the job duties) General Applicant Information Application materials are accepted only for
positions which are currently posted. We do not accept application materials
for any other positions. Unfortunately, we must also return any unsolicited
resumes. We request that you provide us with a
Klamath County Employment Application for each position in which you are
applying. In some cases, a resume may be accepted in place of an application.
Please review the job announcement to determine the items required for the
position which interests you. While completing our employment
application, be sure to read it carefully and answer all of the questions. In
order to be considered for employment with Klamath County, your application
must be complete. It is strongly recommended that you type or neatly print
all information on the application form. Be sure to include all education and
experience that you would like us to consider and be sure to sign and date
your application. All materials submitted are retained by Klamath County, so
be sure to make copies of your documents in advance. Our “Career Opportunity” job announcements
and application materials are all available from the County's Human Resources
Department in the Government Center, located at 305 Main Street in downtown
Klamath Falls. In addition, we often list our job opportunities state-wide
with the State of Oregon’s Employment Division. Our outreach
to northern California communities is usually through California’s Employment Development Department offices in
both Alturas (Modoc County, CA) and Yreka (Siskiyou County, CA). Most
positions are advertised locally in the Klamath Falls Herald & News or regionally in The Oregonian. All of our positions are based in Klamath
Falls unless otherwise indicated on the job announcement. After a position has closed, it will
normally take 2 to 3 weeks for the interviewing process to begin. Only
applicants selected for an interview will be contacted. Once a position has
been filled, the unsuccessful applicants that interviewed will be notified,
as well as the applicant being offered the position. |
