Bid Process for Invitation to Bid & Request For
Proposals
The Klamath County Board of Commissioners has adopted, in whole or in part,
contracting/procurement rules from the State of Oregon Department of Justice
Model Public Contracting Rules and OAR Chapter 125, Oregon Department of Administrative
Services Rules as adapted in the "Klamath County Contracting Policies and
Procedures". If you have questions or would like a copy of these policies

Invitation To Bid (ITB)
Klamath County generally issues an Invitation to Bid for purchases or maintenance
and repair projects that are expected to exceed $25,000. The bidder offering
to provide the product or complete the project for the lowest cost will be selected
provided they have met the requirements of the ITB.
Request For Proposal (RFP)
Klamath County generally issues a Request for Proposal for services. Contractors
are selected based on evaluation criteria established within the RFP and not
exclusively low cost. Services are provided through a contract with Klamath
County as provided in the RFP for a specific period of time and for the agreed
upon compensation.
