Community Service |

Klamath Community Corrections currently has over 700 open community service work files. The Sentencing Judge orders community service hours. When the offender reports to see his/her Probation Officer, a referral is made to the Community Service Work Officer. The offender is then placed at a non-profit organization in the community, and will need to complete his hours at the agency. - Offenders are assigned to work for government or private nonprofit agencies - some clear trails, weed or maintain parks, paint buildings, collect roadside trash or other types of manual labor. Additionally, offenders partnership with Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) to put together MADD ribbons each year to be placed in the news papers for distribution. Offenders are also allowed to work in lieu of some of their court ordered fines and fees. Community service work is also used as a sanction. In lieu of placing an offender in custody, the Parole or Probation Officer, has the option to refer the offender for community service work. This allows the offender the opportunity to continue with employment, and perform the public service work on their days off.
Community Work Crew
- Offenders are placed on supervised crews. Klamath County Community Corrections
employs three full time

Saturdays during the summer months.
