EARLY CHILDHOOD

Early Childhood Partnership

The Early Childhood Partnership (ECP) is a collaboration between the Commission on Children and Families and the Klamath Local Interagency Coordinating Council.
The membership is comprised of Early Intervention, Klamath Resources, Head Start, Migrant Head Start, Klamath Youth Development Center- Healthy Start, Klamath County Public Health Dept, CampFire, Klamath County Library, Klamath County Schools Title I, City Schools Special Programs, Klamath County Mental Health, Jackson County ESD, Lutheran Community Services, parents and community volunteers.

Current efforts include:

Community-wide children's activities
Inclusive community pre-schools
Children's Learning Fair
Parent and provider training's

Partnership For Change

The Partnership for Change is a subcommittee of the Klamath Family Partnership (KFP) specifically dedicated to on-going work with the Child Trauma Academy and Dr. Bruce Perry MD, PhD.


Current Effort Include:

The Partners have completed an intensive train the trainers program in which a cadre of 31 people representative of county and city schools, private practice mental health professionals, an occupational therapist, Child Welfare, Family Court, Klamath County Drug Court, Klamath Tribes, Klamath Youth Development Center, Oregon Child Development Coalition, CASA, Family Support and Connections, Citizens for Safe Schools, Klamath Tribal Health, Klamath County Public Health, Klamath County Mental Health, and Klamath County Commission on Children and Families participated. These trainers with substantial core knowledge of brain development and the effect of trauma on the brain continue to provide training's in the community.
